Artisanal Plaza in front of the central park “Benito Juárez” with relatively modern buildings built in the 20th century, although the space they occupy was delimited when the initial layout of the central plaza was made based on the decree of creation of the town of San Miguel, November 21, 1849, which indicated space for the church, the school, the barracks and the town hall that later became the City Hall, Government Delegation and today the building dating from 1938 is occupied by the municipal tourism office.
The space that today occupies this place called “Plaza Del Sol” was delimited in 1849, as public land owned by the City Hall, the elementary school, the government delegation, the courthouse, the kindergarten and the police headquarters, are some of the instances that occupied this space. Today, it is only occupied by handicraft stores and municipal offices.
In front of it stands the majestic tower of the Municipal Public Clock.
