LONG LIVE VALDÉS, VEUDI. (2023). NOTES AND RESEARCH – HISTORIAN CHRONICLER OF COZUMEL. INTERVIEW CONDUCTED BY THE DIRECTORATE OF TOURISM AND ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT OF THE MUNICIPALITY OF COZUMEL
During the years of the government of General Rafael E. Melgar, necessary and indispensable works continued to be carried out, such as the beautiful Cozumel boardwalk.
The construction of the pier was complemented by a boardwalk that to this day preserves its original architecture after almost a century of being built, but at different times, given the growth of the population, the different governments have attempted to increase the dimensions both to the north and to the south. , preserving the same original design.
Regardless of its beauty, since its construction this work has represented for the Cozumeleño population, mainly the owners established on the avenue facing the sea, a high degree of protection of their property in case of storms or hurricanes that eventually affect us. Fulfilling with this the primary purpose for which it was built.
